It all started back in February of 1997, when Yoshiki (former drummer of X Japan) took the band under his wing and
guided them in the right direction. After that, Dir en grey was born. Composing music about many issues that probabaly
scare the shit out of some people and others that just creep you out. Then again they're sole purpose
is to spread feelings of hurt and sorrow. Which is obvious if you listen long enough to Kyo's voice, especially when
he sings soft to loud, loud to soft within a couple seconds of eachother. Anyway you slice it, its all good. (Of
course seeing them perform is much better than listening to them, in my opinion.)
Dir en grey is definitely a band that you won't like if you hear the wrong song first. I'd recommend listening
to Cage first because that's the first song I heard and I absolutely love them.
